Toucan

“Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing.”
– William Butler Yeats

Toucan

Watercolor & Ink

Another bird painted in the hotel room during the storm.  It’s amazing how my art took my mind off of all the turmoil taking place outside.  Isn’t it wonderful to be able to do that?

We may venture to our house Friday evening.  We haven’t been there since Monday.  We’re looking forward to spending the weekend in our own home.  They are forecasting snow for Friday, Monday and Wednesday, but not this much.  I hope everyone reading this is safe and warm.

About William Butler Yeats

Irish author William Butler Yeats, known for his mysticism and Celtic imagery, won a Nobel Prize for his plays but ultimately achieved more renown as a poet. He was born in Dublin in 1865. Co-founder of the Abbey Theater, he served as its resident playwright and worked with actress Maude Gonne, who inspired the romantic longing expressed in many poems. He married at age 52 and co-wrote A Vision with his wife, a book with occult roots that explores the mythology in his poetry. He died in 1939.

I hope that by now you are back in your house, nice and cosy. Glad you had a few feathered friends to keep you company at the hotel. I love these!!

Thanks, Joan! We’re heading back there this afternoon (to the house). It’s snowing again and we’ll be stuck there, possibly. But the motel room is shrinking! 😀

Thanks, Leslie! We checked out of the motel this morning, but haven’t gone to the house yet. I have to work for the day, then we’ll take the jeep to the house this afternoon. My 2 wheel drive work truck is now locked inside my sign shop. It’s snowing again and we already have another 2 inches. **Aarrrrg** We’ll be parking the jeep at the top of our driveway and sliding down on our butts, I imagine. 😀

Gorgeous, glorious color. We want to get out of our house and you want to get back to yours. And sounds like we are both stir crazy! I hope you get home safely!

Thanks, Linda! Yeah, that hotel room is shrinking and home just sounds so good! I’ve been able to get to work the last couple days and that helps with the stir crazy stuff, but my husband is getting a little nuts. 😀

These are amazing birds, but they wouldn’t be happy here, it was 13 degrees with high winds when I left for work this morning! I’m sure they prefer to stay in the tropics and so would I. Lovely colors Beth, and be safe getting back home.
