“The individual is capable of both great compassion and great indifference. He has it within his means to nourish the former and outgrow the latter.”
– Norman Cousins
Kansas City Skyline – 5″ x 7″ Watercolor & Ink
If you’re wondering why I didn’t post anything yesterday, it’s because WordPress would not let me insert my photo. On an art blog… there’s not much point without the eye candy. I am having a great time painting skyscrapers. They are so full of personality and I find myself wondering about the history and the people who are there now.
About Norman Cousins
American writer and editor Norman Cousins is best known for his book, Anatomy of an Illness, an account of how he used nutrition and positive visualizations, including laughter, to heal from an illness diagnosed as fatal. He was born in New Jersey on June 24, 1915. He served many years as editor-in-chief of the Saturday Review, a job he loved. Under his guidance, circulation increased from 20,000 to 650,000. He received the UN Peace Medal for his world activism. He died on November 30, 1990.

I’d look at this one twice and then come back a third time just because of those reflections. This one really catches the eye because of them. Love it!

I’m a sucker for a good city-scape. Are the buildings really that colorful or did you “Beth” them up?

I do love the cityscapes! And wonderfully neat with the water reflection! Very pretty variation in the clouds too.
I did wonder about yesterday! Hooray for your triumphant return. 😉
