Pumpkin Harvest

Pumpkin Harvest

4″ x 6″ Watercolor and Acrylic Postcard

I painted the pumpkins with acrylic, then came back and finished it with watercolor.  This is a compilation of a couple images by Chelsi, plus a hint of my own imagination.  🙂

About Freya Stark

French-Anglo travel writer Freya Stark was one of the first Western women to see the deserts of the Middle East. She was born in 1893 in Paris and spent her childhood split between her father’s family home in England and her mother’s in Italy. Her first book, Valley of the Assassins, brought her grants to continue her travels. She focused on remote areas of Turkey and the Middle East, seeking cultures that the modern world had not yet altered. She died in 1993 at age 100.

Love your postcard! Love the colors and the rows of pumpkins make me smile. There is one thing wrong here – it makes me feel guilty for not painting my own postcards :D! You did a wonderful job here!

Thanks, Alex! You should do some. Painting postcards keeps me painting often and I attach them to greeting cards for my family sometimes, too. They love getting original art in the mail. 🙂

We used to take the girls to the pumpkin patch when they were smaller, and allowed them to select and pick a pumpkin or two. Thanks for the sweet memories!

Love it! All the rows of pumpkins leading to the tractor and wagon! Fit for a harvest card! This would be so cool! I can imagine being there in this landscape and feeling the crisp air of autumn!

Thanks, Leslie! I had fun painting this one. The tractor was in one of Chelsi’s photos, but it had some farm implement behind it. I added the pumpkin Trailer. The rows of pumpkins were from a different photo. It was a hoot putting it all together. 🙂
