Yupo Pasture

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
– Anatole France

Yupo Pasture

10″ x 8″ Watercolor on Yupo

Those two acrylic paintings took so long to do that I am going to post an old painting today.  I usually manage 5 paintings a week, but not this week.  🙂

I like the peacefulness of this scene.  In total contrast, I am literally ga ga!! I have been commissioned to do a 2′ x 4′ version of my Little Pink House painting!  I am so thrilled!  It’s going to Florida and I am “butt wiggling” happy!  (I finally shot a price to her and she was very happy with it, so now it is real.)

About Anatole France

Anatole France was the pen name of Nobel Prize–winning French author Jacques Anatole François Thibault. He was born in 1844 in Paris. His father was a book dealer, and France spent his life among books, including 14 years as assistant librarian to the French Senate. His novels, including the Contemporary History series and The Gods Are Athirst, often use allegory and religious symbolism as vehicles for moral questions. He died in 1924.

I have never tried Yupo, but I sure like this painting. I agree this painting exudes calmness.

CONGRATULATIONS on your painting commission. Way to go. And I hope you will show it to us once the owner approves.

As John Mellencamp ( a Indiana Boy) song would say “Little pink houses for you and me” congrats on the commission!

You handled that Yupo very well. Great depth in that painting. Love it!

Congratulation on the commission. I can understand that you get some of those with your lovely bubbly style.

Awww, Thanks, Mona! It’s funny that nobody would probably think of the Yupo Pasture and the Little Pink House as having come from the same artist. 🙂

What a gorgeous landscape on Yupo! I find Yupo very challenging, all that color sliding across the plastic. You handled it very well, here, Beth. I was going to say that I especially like the clouds, but I like the yellow pasture and cows and pond with the reflections just as much. Very SUMMER!
    Congrats on the commission!

Thanks, Leslie! I discovered that the fingerprints on Yupo is one of the irritating problems. They actually suggest you handle it with cotton gloves. (look of horror) Who actually does that? he he I tape it to a board, then wipe it down with denatured alcohol before I paint. It’s still tricky, tho. 🙂

      Thanks for Congrats, too!
