Tuesday’s Cat

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.”
– Plutarch

I love that!!

Pelle 1

4″ x 6″  Watercolor

Pelle’s true appearance was eluding me, so I just had fun with him.   He loves the camera, but I’m not too sure he loves the artist.  🙂

About Plutarch

Plutarch, the Greek historian who penned more than 46 anecdote-laced biographies of famous Greek and Roman figures in his Parallel Lives series of books, was more interested in exploring the influence of character on a man’s personal destiny than in writing dry histories. He was born in Greece during Roman rule, most likely in the year 46. He traveled extensively through the Roman Empire, finally returning home to become a priest of Apollo at the Oracle of Delphi. He died in the year 120.

I think you have something of a personality here. I am assuming the difficulties you were talking to Mona about, might be the lightness of his/her coat? The “eyes” have it, Beth! LOL You are so good with taking something and giving it a personality.

Thanks, Leslie. Yes, Pelle is a paler color and he is so expressive. I guess I normally don’t try to make my paintings look like their victims. My fascination with cats…. definitely the eyes. 🙂

Beth that is so cute. It looks like his who-ME-I-DIDN’T-do-it-look. 😀

Pelle is blue mitted ragdoll with a blaze. His body is pale with a slate grey face, ears, legs and tail. He has white mittens on his paws, a white stripe from his collar over his belly to his tail. All the similar markings of a Birman. But Pelle also has a white chin and a white blaze in his nose (not all mitted ragdolls have this).

Pelle is six years old and weighs 7 kilos (15.4 ponds), he’s a is a bit on the big side… He acts like a dog, very robust and was playing in the snow earlier today. When it rains, he fetches earthworms and delivers them to our bed.

Sandy and Eliza are 11 year old sisters. They are seal colorpoint ragdolls. They have wheat coloured bodies and a warm brown color on their legs, face, tail and ears. Ragdolls always have blue eyes Sandy has great eye color, a very deep blue.

Oops, can you tell that I used to have a website about ragdolls and was very in to cat shows. :-/

LOL So that’s what look this is! **giggle** Trust me, it’s different from the next two. I have looked into those blue eyes long enough to feel a kinship with him. He’s a beautiful cat! 🙂
